How do I send a price list instead of a quote?

A price list shows one price per line and nothing adds up. The client accepts your prices without booking anything yet.

Steps

  1. Open Quotes and click "New quote".
  2. In To, search for a client, or choose New prospect and add their name, email and business.
  3. Add lines with Add from services, Lump sum or Text. Use Heading to put a short title between lines.
  4. Open the ••• menu and choose "Make it a price list". Each line now shows its own price, with no subtotal, discount, tax total, total or deposit.
  5. Check it with Preview. The page and the PDF say "Price list", with one line saying which currency the prices are in and whether they include tax.
  6. Click "Send price list".
  7. The client opens the link, can ask questions, ticks the box, types their name and clicks "Accept these prices".

Accepting turns a prospect into a client. No project, services or deposit invoice are made.

Good to know

  • "Make it a price list" works on a draft. "Make it a quote" in the same menu switches it back.
  • Optional and choose-one lines become plain lines on a price list, and Qty is always 1.
  • There is no Decline on a price list.

What it does not do

  • Create invoice from quote does not apply to a price list.
  • A price list makes no project. Book the work once the client is ready.
